Tantalum carbide hardness, high melting point, high temperature performance, mainly used as a hard alloy additive. The thermal hardness, thermal shock resistance and thermal oxidation resistance of cemented carbide can be improved significantly by increasing the grain size of tantalum carbide. For a long time, a single tantalum carbide is added to tungsten carbide (or tungsten carbide and titanium carbide), and the bonding agent cobalt metal is mixed, formed, sintered to produce hard alloy. In order to reduce the cost of hard alloy, tantalum niobium compound carbide is often used. Now the primary use of tantalum niobium compound is :TaC:NbC is 80:20 and 60:40, and the energy of niobium carbide in the complex reaches 40% (generally not more than 20% is better).
